Below is important information regarding purchasing medications from our site for shipment to the UK:
Import Guidelines
- You can import non-controlled prescription drugs for personal use or for an immediate family member. Each shipment should not exceed a three-month supply.
- We recommend including a copy of your prescription with the package, though the MHRA does not strictly require it. When placing an order, you must certify that a healthcare provider will supervise your medication use.
- If your package is valued less than £900.00, we will not require a copy of your prescription. For packages valued higher than £900.00 we will require a copy of your prescription to assist with the High Value Customs clearance.
Customs Clearance Process
- Customs clearance in the UK is handled by the courier (Royal Mail, ParcelForce, FedEx or DHL depending on the shipping option you have chosen).
- For high-value invoices, the courier must submit to submit the commodity code for all items as well as provide pertinent licenses/import permits. Most medications use the commodity code 2937 9000 00 (which we include in the item description on your shipping label). We require a copy of your prescription to include with this information. While this is our policy, UK regulations do not strictly require a license or permit for personal-use medications.
VAT and Fees
- Please note that you are responsible for the payment of VAT and the handling fee charged by the courier (Royal Mail, ParcelForce, FedEx or DHL).
- Since UK regulations prevent us from registering our company there, we cannot pre-charge VAT and must remain offshore to comply with regulations.
- We must declare the accurate value of your package. HM Revenue & Customs has access to our website, and inaccurate declarations may delay customs clearance.
Special note about Armour Thyroid and NP Thyroid
- The commodity code for these medications is not listed. Based on product classification guidelines, use the commodity code of the ingredient with the highest content. Armour Thyroid contains levothyroxine and liothyronine, both classified under 2937 9000 00. Use this code for Armour Thyroid and NP Thyroid.
