What is Exforge HCT and what is it used for:

Exforge HCT is a combination medication used to treat hypertension, or high blood pressure. It contains three active ingredients: amlodipine, which is a calcium channel blocker; valsartan, which is an angiotensin II receptor blocker; and hydrochlorothiazide, which is a thiazide diuretic. Amlodipine works by relaxing the blood vessels, while valsartan blocks the action of a hormone that causes the blood vessels to narrow. Hydrochlorothiazide helps the body get rid of excess salt and water, which can also help lower blood pressure.

Exforge HCT is used to treat hypertension in adults who require treatment with all three active ingredients. It is usually prescribed when treatment with any of the individual drugs is not sufficient to control blood pressure.

How to take Exforge HCT:
