Important Warning
Thyroid hormones, including desiccated thyroid, should not be used for weight loss in patients with normal thyroid function. Effective doses for weight reduction are within normal hormonal levels; however, high doses may cause serious or life-threatening toxicity, particularly when used alongside medications that stimulate the nervous system.
Uses for Armour Thyroid
Armour Thyroid is a natural hormone replacement used to treat hypothyroidism, a condition in which the thyroid gland does not produce enough thyroid hormone. It is also sometimes prescribed for other thyroid-related conditions, such as goiter, and may be used as part of the treatment for thyroid cancer.
