What is Dovato and what is it used for:

Dovato is a prescription medication used to treat human immunodeficiency virus type 1 (HIV-1) infection in adults. It contains a combination of two antiretroviral drugs: dolutegravir and lamivudine. Dolutegravir belongs to a class of drugs called integrase inhibitors, which prevent the virus from multiplying. Lamivudine belongs to a class of drugs called nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors, which also prevent the virus from multiplying.

How to take Dovato:

Dovato is taken orally as a tablet once daily, with or without food. It is important to take Dovato regularly to get the most benefit from it. Do not stop taking Dovato without consulting your doctor.

Possible side effects of Dovato:

Dovato may cause some side effects, including:

• Headache
• Diarrhea
• Nausea
• Insomnia
• Fatigue
• Dizziness
• Abdominal pain
• Rash
• Changes in liver function tests
