What is dutasteride and what is it used for:

Dutasteride is a medication used to treat an enlarged prostate gland, a condition called benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). It works by reducing the size of the prostate gland and improving urinary flow. Dutasteride is also used in combination with another medication, tamsulosin, to treat BPH.

How to take dutasteride:

Dutasteride is taken orally as a capsule, usually once daily with or without food. It may take several months to see the full benefit of dutasteride. Do not crush, chew or open the capsules. If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it is near the time of the next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule.
