Thyroid hormones, including desiccated thyroid, should not be used for weight loss in patients with normal thyroid function. Effective doses for weight reduction are within normal hormonal levels; however, high doses may cause serious or life-threatening toxicity, particularly when used alongside medications that stimulate the nervous system.

Uses for NP Thyroid
NP Thyroid is a natural thyroid hormone replacement used to treat hypothyroidism, a condition in which the thyroid gland does not produce enough thyroid hormone. It may also be prescribed for the treatment of goiter and as part of the management of thyroid cancer.

Before Using NP Thyroid
Allergies

Pediatric

Not Recommended: Cholestyramine, Colestipol
May Interact: Estrogen products, insulin or other diabetes medications, warfarin (blood thinner)

Medical Conditions

Proper Use of NP Thyroid
NP Thyroid is typically taken once daily. Treatment is often lifelong for hypothyroidism. Do not stop taking it or change your dose without consulting your healthcare provider. It may take weeks before noticeable improvement occurs.
