Description

- Drug class: Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID)
- Uses: Relieves mild-to-moderate pain, reduces inflammation and fever. Often used to treat rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, and other musculoskeletal conditions.
- Administration: Oral tablets.
- Dosage: 750-1500 mg twice a day, or as directed by a doctor.
- Common side effects: Upset stomach, heartburn, nausea, vomiting, ringing in the ears, dizziness, headache, blurred vision, or rash.
- Serious side effects: Signs of bleeding (such as bloody or black stools), difficulty breathing or swallowing, chest pain, weakness in one part or side of the body, slurred speech, vision changes, severe stomach pain or vomiting.
- Warnings and precautions: May increase the risk of heart attack or stroke, especially in high doses or with long-term use. Should not be used in the last 3 months of pregnancy, or while breastfeeding. Should not be used in people with a history of aspirin or NSAID allergy, bleeding disorder, or severe kidney disease. Should be used with caution in people with liver disease, heart disease, or high blood pressure. Can interact with certain medications, such as blood thinners, blood pressure medications, and diabetes medications. Should not be taken with alcohol or tobacco.
