What is Sildenafil and what is it used for?

Sildenafil is a medication used to treat erectile dysfunction (ED) in men and pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH). It works by relaxing blood vessels and increasing blood flow to specific areas of the body. For ED, it helps to achieve and maintain an erection during sexual activity. For PAH, it helps improve exercise ability by relaxing blood vessels in the lungs.

How to take Sildenafil Tablets:

Sildenafil is usually taken by mouth, with or without food, as directed by your doctor.
For ED, it is typically taken as needed about 30 minutes to 1 hour before sexual activity, but not more than once daily.
For PAH, it is usually taken three times daily, spaced evenly throughout the day.
Follow your doctor’s dosage instructions exactly; do not take more or less than prescribed.
Possible side effects of Sildenafil:

Flushing (warmth, redness, or tingling)
