Uses:
Silodosin is used to treat symptoms of an enlarged prostate (benign prostatic hyperplasia – BPH) such as difficulty urinating, weak urine stream, and urinary urgency. This medication works by relaxing the muscles in the prostate and bladder neck, making it easier to urinate.

Dosage:
Silodosin is usually taken once a day with a meal. The recommended starting dose is 8 milligrams (mg) per day. Your doctor may increase your dose to 16 mg per day if needed.

Side Effects:
Common side effects of Silodosin may include dizziness, headache, runny or stuffy nose, diarrhea, and decreased semen volume. Contact your doctor if you experience any severe side effects, such as chest pain, irregular heartbeat, or difficulty breathing.

Precautions:
Before taking Silodosin, inform your doctor of any medical conditions you may have, especially liver or kidney disease. Silodosin may cause dizziness or fainting, so avoid driving or operating heavy machinery until you know how this medication affects you.
